FreqCut

Privacy Policy

Effective 17 October 2026

1. Summary

FreqCut is built to work on your device. It has no accounts, contains no advertising or third-party tracking, and does not send your photos, videos or music to the developer. We do not sell personal information. FreqCut is made exclusively for iPhone; it is not available for iPad, Mac or other platforms. This policy applies to the FreqCut iPhone app and to freqcut.com.

FreqCut is made by Rakesh B, an individual developer in Bangalore, India (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for your data under this policy.

2. Information the app uses on your device

  • Photos and videos. With your permission, FreqCut reads the items you choose from your Photos library. With Limited Access, it only sees the items you allow.
  • Saving. When you export, FreqCut asks permission to add the finished video to Photos.
  • Files. Songs and other files are opened only when you pick them through Apple’s file picker.
  • Captions. If you enable captions, FreqCut uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Audio is processed on your device.
  • Analysis. Beat detection and image analysis (such as subject-aware zoom and person cutout) run on your device.

One network request. To check that the device clock is correct (used to validate your FreqCut Pro status), the app makes a single date/time request to apple.com and reads only the server’s date. No personal data, media or identifiers are sent, and nothing is stored.

FreqCut does not access your location, contacts or advertising identifier.

3. Information we collect

Through the app: none. FreqCut has no developer servers and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software. Apart from the apple.com date check described above, the app makes no network requests of its own. If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments, and use them only to reply and to provide support.

The website freqcut.com is a static site hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify may process technical data such as IP addresses in server logs for security and delivery. The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

4. On-device storage

Projects, settings and caches are stored in the app’s storage on your device. You can delete projects in the app; deleting the app removes its data from your device. Your device backups follow your Apple settings.

5. Purchases and Apple

FreqCut is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Subscriptions are purchased and processed by Apple. We never see your name, payment card or Apple ID; the app checks entitlement with Apple’s StoreKit. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us aggregated, anonymous crash and usage statistics. Apple’s handling is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

6. Tracking, advertising and sale

FreqCut does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, does not show ads, and does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. Sharing

Content leaves your device only when you export or share it, and goes to the destination you choose under that service’s terms. We may disclose email correspondence only if required by law.

8. Children

FreqCut is a general-audience creative tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security and retention

Your media stays protected by Apple’s platform security and your device passcode. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you and then deleted, unless the law requires otherwise.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, to withdraw consent, to nominate someone to act for you, and to complain to a regulator.

  • India (DPDP Act, 2023): rights to information, correction and erasure, grievance redressal, and nomination; you may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
  • EU/UK (GDPR): rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Our legal basis for handling support emails is our legitimate interest in responding to you.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete and correct, and to not be discriminated against. We do not sell or share personal information.

Because the app does not collect personal information, most requests concern support email. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days.

11. International transfers

Support email is handled using Google’s Gmail service, which may process data outside your country under its own safeguards.

12. Changes

We will post any changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.

13. Contact and grievance officer
